Work Begins to Improve Alerting System throughout Rochester
The City of Rochester Emergency Management Division has authorized warning siren work to begin the week of May 6, 2019. Identified Capital Improvement Project funds will be used for warning siren equipment upgrades and new installations.

Rochester Public Bike Share Program Launched Today
Rochester’s public bike-sharing program kicked off today for the 2019 season. Now through late fall, community members can visit any of the public bike-sharing locations noted below and sign out a bike at no cost.

RPU Receives Diamond RP3 Designation from American Public Power Association
Rochester Public Utilities (RPU) received the 2019 Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3) Diamond designation by the American Public Power Association (APPA). RPU was honored at the APPA Engineering and Operations Conference in Colorado Springs, CO on Monday, April 1, 2019.

Community Organizations Featured In City Hall
The Mayor’s Office is providing local organizations the opportunity to be highlighted in City Hall. Donate Life and the Greater Rochester Area Dakota Supporters (GRADS) are the first community organizations to install materials in two display cases in the entrance of City Hall.

Trails Temporarily Closed Due to Ice Jams and Flooding

Community Feedback Sought on Potential Silver Lake Park Projects
The dredging of Silver Lake is a significant operation and it was last completed about 25 years ago. As such, the City of Rochester has identified additional improvements that can be done, during the dredging, which would benefit the community’s use of Silver Lake Park.
