Between May 22 and June 20, 2018, 400 City of Rochester residents were randomly selected for telephone interviews to collect data for the City of Rochester Community Survey. The survey results were compiled and in July 2018, the data was presented to the Mayor, City Council, and community.

In a continued effort to create accessibility and enjoyment of the parks and trail systems for all residents and visitors, the Parks & Recreation Department has made available the Action Trackchair, which is an all-terrain wheelchair.

The budget development process for 2019 has been revised as the City of Rochester transitions to a revenue first, multi-year budget. It is anticipated to be fully implemented over a two year period (2018 and 2019), with significant progress being made this year.

Rochester residents voted in record numbers as part of the Aug. 14 Primary to select candidates to move forward to the general election. At least two races are close enough to warrant possible recounts.
