Mission Statement
To promote the public health, safety, order, convenience, prosperity and general welfare, to conserve property values, to ensure the realization of benefits accruing to property by reason of its proximity to an airport, and to encourage the most appropriate use of land in the vicinity of the Rochester International Airport.
Organizational Structure
The Board was created and established by joint action of the Boards of County Commissioners of Olmsted and Fillmore Counties and the Common Council of the City of Rochester, Minnesota, pursuant to the provisions and authority of Minnesota Statutes, Section 350.061 to 365.074.
The Board consists of five members of citizen volunteers. Three members are appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the City Council; two members are appointed by the Olmsted County Board of Commissioners, two members are appointed by High Forest Township and two members appointed by Fillmore County. Terms are for three years and staggered.
The Board meets on a need only basis.
The Board meets at the Main Terminal Conference Room at the Rochester International Airport.
Member Responsibilities
- The Board is responsible for making decisions on zoning requirements for the Airport and conducting public hearings as needed.
- The Board is supported by the staff of the Rochester Airport Company, City Clerk’s Office, City Attorney’s Office, and the Planning Department.
Appointment Requirements
Must be a resident of the City of Rochester, Counties of Olmsted or Fillmore or Township of High Forest and appointed.
