Tours are welcomed and available at the Water Reclamation Plant for all age groups and interest levels.  Tours will last anywhere from 1 hour to 2 hours depending on age, interest, and background. Tours are given on weekdays between 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM.

Tour groups must consist of at least 8 people. If your group has fewer than 8 people, please ask for a combined tour. Sturdy shoes are required in all of our facilities (no flip-flops or high heels). All safety rules must be complied with at all times and will be explained by the tour guide at the beginning of the tour.

Visitors will walk through multiple levels of the Water Reclamation Plant, therefore stair climbing is involved. Children must be in 1st grade or older; this includes siblings. Chaperones must be provided by the participant in order to have 1 adult for every 5 children under the age of 10 and 1 adult for every 10 children age 10 and older. It is the responsibility of the chaperones to ensure respectful and safe behavior of all tour group members.

The RV dump is located on the furthest south end of the  Water Reclamation Plant property along 37th street outside of the secured gate area to allow access during closed hours. The RV dump is open 24 hours a day in spring, summer, and fall months.  The RV dump is closed during winter months. A fee of $2.00 is charged for using the RV dump facility. Only RV's are to dump at the dump station. A non-potable water source is available to rinse out your tank.  A hose for the dump connection must be supplied by the user.  

Septage receiving is available at the Water Reclamation Plant inside the secured gate area. Septage receiving rates can be found below under the Rates section. Only certified haulers approved by the Water Reclamation Plant may use the septage receiving station to dispose of septic tank, holding tank, or other approved wastes. The Water Reclamation Plant accepts wastes from outside city limits only if pre-approved by the plant manager. All who use the septage receiving station must fill out the appropriate forms located in the Primary Clarifier building (near the septage receiving area) each time of use.

The City of Rochester accepts the material that gets pumped out of grease interceptors (Fats, Oils and Greases, or FOG). The FOG receiving station  is located next to the Administration Building. FOG hauling companies or individual businesses that clean their own grease interceptors must be approved by the Water Reclamation Plant in order to discharge grease interceptor waste. The appropriate forms must be filled out each time FOG is discharged. The forms are located in the Primary Clarifier building, which is near the septage receiving area.
