City Benefits Overview
The City of Rochester offers a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees. The benefits include medical, dental, life and long-term disability coverage. A pension plan, deferred compensation programs, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts and an employee assistance program round out the City's benefit package. Additionally, the City has competitive provisions for vacation, holidays, sick and other types of paid and unpaid leaves.
Parental Leave:
As a family-friendly employer, the City of Rochester supports employees by providing 120 hours of paid leave time for the birth of a child/ren or placement of a child/ren in an employee’s household due to adoption or surrogacy. All benefit eligible employees who have been employed for 12 months preceding the date of leave and have worked at least 1250 hours during that same 12 month period. Parental Leave is prorated based on full-time equivalency.
Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF)
PSLF forgives the remaining balance on your Direct Loans after an individual has made 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan while working full-time for a government organization. https://studentaid.gov/manage-loans/forgiveness-cancellation
Employee Assistant Program (EAP)
A free and confidential service, the EAP provides support and resources to employees and their household members. EAP services include four free counseling sessions, as well as family, career, health and financial resources.
