The Just Deeds Coalition was established to help communities and property owners to remove discriminatory and restrictive covenants from property titles. This service is free of charge to the property owner.

In 2016, the University of Minnesota founded Mapping Prejudice, which researched restrictive covenants in Hennepin County. Mapping Prejudice hopes to map the City of Rochester to further assist in the removal of discriminatory covenants from local properties.

On March 22, 2021, the Common Council of the City of Rochester passed Resolution 051-21 approving the participation in the Just Deeds Project.

To look for restrictive covenants on your property or to volunteer your time please complete one of the forms listed below. If there are questions relative to this project, please direct them to justdeeds@rochestermn.gov and a City of Rochester teammate will respond.
