89.3 The Current (88.7 in Rochester) will sponsor Indie Night - Sunday, July 22 (Week #3) at 7PM in Mayo Park,  featuring Midwest indie-rocker LISSIE with Rochester's own blues/R&B icon ANNIE MACK at the Think Bank Down by the Riverside FREE Outdoor Concert Series in Rochester, MN.

LISSIE (Headliner): Lissie grew up in Rock Island, Illinois, near the Mississippi River, speaking her mind and writing songs from an early age. Her fourth studio album Castles was released on March 23 which promptly cracked the Top 10 in the UK Album Charts. The new music follows the release of her 2016 album My Wild West, which peaked at #1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart and Top 10 on the Independent Albums chart and received widespread critical praise. Lissie also appeared in the most recent season of David Lynch’s Twin Peaks with NME saying of her “intense” performance: “Closing the episode with the Stevie Nicks-esque ‘Wild West,’ Rock Island’s most exciting troubadour more than earned her Lynch-commissioned screen time.”

Lissie’s two previous albums, 2010’s Catching a Tiger and 2013’s Back to Forever, both scored in the Top 20 of the U.K. Charts and Top 5 in Norway, the former going gold in both countries. Stateside, the two releases hit the Top 5 in Billboard’s Heatseekers Chart, peaked at #5 and #11, respectively, on the U.S. Folk tally and went Top 40 on the Indie Charts. Her songs have been licensed for countless films and TV shows, and topped numerous Best Of polls. "The Longest Road," a song she wrote with DJ Morgan Page was subsequently remixed by Deadmau5 and nominated for a ‘Best Remixed Record’ Grammy. She is a two-time hall of famer on The Current's Chart Show for the songs "Shameless", and "Don't You Give Up on Me".

With a career that has seen her open for renowned artist Lenny Kravitz (an early supporter), Tom Petty and even been asked to perform at Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore‘s wedding, Lissie has had a wealth of incredible experiences that have made her the confident and determined artist she is today.

MUSIC VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS: "When I'm Alone", "Further Away (Romance Police)", "Shameless", "Hero", "Don't You Give Up On Me", "Blood & Muscle", "Best Days".
