When virtuoso Irish playing meets bluegrass and Americana, JigJam is born. Hailing from Offaly and Tipperary, JigJam brings the roots of bluegrass back to America with a highenergy, foot-stomping live show. The band made a celebrated debut at the Grand Ole Opry in March 2023, earning a standing ovation from a sold-out crowd.
Founding members Jamie McKeogh (guitar) and Daithi Melia (banjo, dobro), along with Gavin Strappe (mandolin, tenor banjo), and Kevin Buckley (fiddle), form this powerhouse iGrass (Irish Bluegrass) quartet. Described as "Ireland's answer to New Grass Revival," JigJam embodies the spirit of Irish music and its influence on bluegrass.
A weekly summer staple of downtown Rochester, Thursdays Downtown combines arts, music, food, and a vendor market into one free community-uniting, block-party-style event! Every week, enjoy life, feel a sense of place, and interact with others at Thursdays Downtown. Your taste buds will be satisfied with enticing foods and musical styles, too. The festival runs every Thursday from June 13 - August 15, except July 4.
