5:30 p.m. | Horace Greene
Wisconsin-based band Horace Greene crafts danceable indie rock, teasing elements of synth-pop and psychedelia. Their latest release "The Diamond Engine," is a 12-song album showcasing their vibrant mix of influences and further pushing the boundaries on their soul-stirring, '60s-twinged style. The band is working on a new album and is planning a 2024 release.
6:30 p.m. | Jillian Rae
A Minneapolis-based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, Jillian Rae pioneers genre-transcending music in the Midwest. Her latest single, 'Silence,' marks her longest artistic endeavor yet. Born during the pandemic and inspired by societal upheaval, it is blunt yet hopeful, and it urges listeners to contemplate and create a better world. Jillian is currently preparing to release a highly-anticipated album with her partner Eric Martin.
Beyond her solo work, Rae is active in the indie band scene and traditional folk group Corpse Reviver, touring extensively and sharing stages with renowned acts like the Steve Miller Band and Shakey Graves.
These free, Wednesday evening concerts highlight local bands and regional headliners.
Concerts are held in six different walkable, pet friendly, and bike trail connected parks - one in each city ward. The music starts at 5:30 and wraps up by 8 pm. Come early to enjoy the park before the show, visit the bookmobile, and grab a coloring sheet and crayons for the kids!
Everyone is welcome! Picnic baskets, coolers, well-behaved pups, and blankets are encouraged, and here will be local food and beverage vendors on site.
