This episode of Riverside Concerts' online music show "Live from Med City" features Riverside Concerts' own General Manager Steven J. Schmidt, an accomplished musical performer in his own right, performing what was originally intended as a test run of our streaming equipment in preparation for the live streaming of the 2020 "Car Park Concerts". But the test recordings were too good to keep under wraps, so we present them to you here as a special Thanksgiving night treat.
Steven J. Schmidt, Sally Ordway Commitment Award winner recognizing his lifetime achievement, contribution, and leadership in the arts (https://youtu.be/uEYSBOpSbsk), is a Midwestern singer/songwriter who has written over 200 songs, and each one is like a bottle of fine, bourbon barrel-aged stout. He performs his rich, full-flavored original tunes, crafted over the last forty years, at house concerts, coffee houses, brew pubs, wineries, performing arts centers and theatres, and festivals.
Riverside Concerts, the City of Rochester's music department, presents "Live from Med City", an online video digest of all things arts and entertainment in Rochester, MN. The "Live from Med City" concept was conceived with the objective to spotlight the many “live arts experiences” Rochester (home of the world renowned Mayo Clinic) has to offer, featuring artists from around the block and from all over the world, and filmed in some of our finest and most unique venues. Focusing first on Riverside Concerts’ own presentations, but with an eye toward broadening the coverage to include presentations from other local organizations in the future.
Brought to you by the Friends of Riverside Concerts with additional support by the Mayo Clinic. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support Grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts & cultural heritage fund.
