Smart Salting for Parking Lots and Sidewalks

  • Introduction: The MPCA Smart Salting training offers information about best practices for winter maintenance saving money, time, and the environment!

This free online training course teaches about best practices for managing snow and ice on parking lots and sidewalks. All attendees will receive a “Winter Parking Lot and Sidewalk Maintenance” manual, and all attendees can attain the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency Level 1 Certification in Snow and Ice Control Best Practices.

  • Property owners and managers
  • Snowplow drivers
  • Parking lot, sidewalk, & trail maintenance staff from counties, cities, park districts & school districts
