Sealed proposals will be accepted until 5:00 pm, May 24, 2013 at the City Clerk's desk, 201 4th ST SE, Rm 135, Rochester, MN 55904 for the sale of used vehicles and equipment.  Please submit your proposal on the attached form in a sealed envelope marked "Vehicle/Equipment Sale".  This is not an open auction, all proposals submitted must have one specific amount specified as your bid amount.  No one under the age of 18 is allowed to purchase a vehicle.  ALL VEHICLES/EQUIPMENT MUST BE REMOVED BY MAY 31, 2013.  The results of the sale will be made available June 4, 2013, after 3:00 pm.

 

All items are sold on "AS IS/WHERE IS" basis, including all faults and defects whether known or unknown.  The City claims no warranty as to the fitness or condition of any item in the sale, and all sales are FINAL, with no exception.  The City of Rochester reserves the right to reject any and all proposals.  Once the sale is complete, the buyer accepts full responsibility and assumes all risks of disappearance, theft, or damage for any item purchased.  The buyer, waives, releases, and discharges the City of Rochester, its officers and employees from any liability in the event of disappearance, theft or damage of any item purchased.

City of Rochester employees are limited to purchasing one vehicle per auction from the City per Minnesota State Statutes 15.054.

The buyer is responsible for paying 7.375% sales tax on all equipment and miscellaneous items purchased.  Buyers exempt from paying the tax must present a copy of their tax exemption certificate to the City of Rochester at the time of purchase.
